What I Did Last Week, Sunday...

I came back late on Saturday because of my Grand-Auntie's 1st Death Aniversary.

My family stayed there until 1am, talking to my Grand-Uncle.
When it was time to leave, we bade him good night.

Apparently, receive an SMS from chele that time.
But I couldn't call her, cause I was at someone else's house...
and I'm the kind of person who would talk for long hours...
so the house phone was definitely needed :/

Anyways, I received an early morning call from chele at 8am, I think.

And then she told me that there's this theStar Online Carnival or something...



[This, was what she meant lol]
and she's going with Phyllis. So she asked me whether I wanted to come along.

And I did XD
But hor, I didn't know that we were going to take the train :x
Until the very last minute when Phyllis's Mum drove us to Petaling Jaya Sri Petaling station :o
Opps XD

Anyways...
we took the train from Petaling Jaya Sri Petaling to Masjid Jamek and then
interchanged to Kelana Jaya :o

I just came back from Mass, ate my curry and left :x

Anyways, on the train, we caught up on our college stories and
some other *ahem ahem* recollections XD

After we interchanged the train station Phyllis and I were talking while standing
and chele went to sit at the far end of the train.

Hear this:
After a while, the train wasn't so packed anymore,
and I looked for chele. When I spotted her, I looked closely at the Aunty sitting beside her.

I thought that the aunty looked seriously familiar :o
So I went closer to see... and it turned out, it was Aunty Barbara!! XD XD
What a coincidence! :D

We caught up a bit and then she (with her whole family), gave us a ride to Tropicana Mall :D
Thank God, and I seriously think that she was sent by God o.o

Because she too was heading to Kelana Jaya at that particular train, in that particular carriage
and better yet, chele actually sat next to her without knowing who she was! XD XD

Anyways, we didn't go to the carnival just yet, we actually went round the Mall until
we ended up in the car park looking for bread :/

Yes, it's true o_o;;

Anyways, when we finished looking for bread, we went to the Carnival.
I was a 'lil bit curious, since it was an online carnival.
Wonder what they would have there? :O

First thing that caught my eye:



Oh yeah. Eating. My favourite activity.

I think the favour comes mostly from the red sauce.
At first I thought it was beef... but it can't be beef, so I suppose it has to be chicken :/

Anyways!
The second thing that caught my attention was the stage...
where this Wushu guy was dancing with the light saber :o
Okay, he wasn't really "dancing", but he did some fighting moves with the saber...
*no pic of him, sorry. I only remembered that his clothes were purple in colour XD

The third thing!



A girl was dancing to the middle computer, and chele was soooo sooo soooooooooooo
excited to dance there XD

And she wanted the three of us to dance there :x
Until the lady told us that it was actually a competiton,
one racing, one dancing, and another first shooter game.

Contestants were to obtain the highest possible score with the three games combined
and then they will win a prize. lol.

But we didn't enter the competition rofl. Too bad D:
Then a lady came and told us that we three could dance if we wanted to...

There was another booth designed for that.

So off we went to look for the said booth.
*at first we got lost, cause it wasn't like what we expected

It turns out, two little kids were playing it.
(No, they weren't dancing. They were playing sports.)




Pretty soon, all Xboxes are going to become control-less.

Anyways, when the two kids finished, we were up next.


And chele boldly chose everything XD XD XD

Phyllis was a lil' bit shy, so I went up against chele XD

(since it was that small XD)

But there isn't much there :/
The only things I remembered was a large bookshop,
Tutti Frutti (coz we bought a cup there),
and the Wedding Photos shop (which was closed).

Uh, we went back using the shuttle bus,
which drop off point took us a while to look for =.=

People kept saying "7 Eleven",
but from within the building, we couldn't see one 7 Eleven shop =.=

In the end, we went through this really small opening at Exit G
and saw the bus there XD
haha, thankfully, it hasn't left us yet XP

After that, we actually cam-happied a while more in the train...
but hah, I don't have the pics.

chele's lappie was sent to be repaired since the speakers broke down or something :/

Eitherway... yea.
Mum came and picked us up from the Petaling Jaya station,
and then sent all of us home :D

I now know where chele's house is after she moved!
Don't be surprised when I come round visiting your house after I drive pro pro pro liao,
understand, chele?! XD XD

What I Did Last Sunday...

In the morning before going for 11.30am Mass,

my sister had complained to Mum...

After Mum asked her whether she has had her breakfast.

And Mon replied:

"I don't know what to eat. There's NOTHING to eat."

Yes, she TOTALLY said that =.=;;

As though I'm directly responsible for not baking any breakfast for my family on Friday.

Oh btw, did I mention that Friday's chieong-notes-mode totally failed??
Now you know.

So after Mass, I decided...

It's going to be a
BAKE SUNDAY!!!

And guess what I was baking???

CARAMEL
CORNFLAKESSS!!

TA-DAHHHH!!!

Oh yeah, they looked slightly burnt,

but they taste awesome!! :D

Oh yeah, I made just enough to pack two and a half jars.

Unfortunately, whilst I was still cooling down the cornflakes,

My family swooped in like a flock of hungry hawks on them.

So I had to distract them with the half jar so I can salvage the two full jars :'(

Sorry, half jar. You will be honoured for your courageous effort.

But looking at it,

no wonder my family turned greedy on them XD

Who could resist the strong caramel taste in these cornflakes??

The best part:

They were NOT sweet!! :D :D

Yup, they all came in single bunches like that.

All of them were bite-sized.

Aw... am I making you hungry now??

The truth: everyone in my family loves them

(fresh from the oven).

Mon commented:

It's crunchy and the taste of caramel is rich.
Not super sweet, (it's) really nice.

Awwww :')

Thin as a stick, but seriously is a good food critic.

Even my DOG loves them! o_O

I know she loves it, she has her eyes fixed on it~~

Yeah, just goes to show what a successful baking expedition it was!!

And added surplus:

I didn't follow the recipe closely this time.

I put everything in the pan and stirred until the caramel formed o.o

Then I took the whole thing out and stirred to cool before putting all the eggs in.

And finally the cornflakes.

Then bake as usual :D

Next time, (when I get my personal induction cooker repaired)

I'll use this method again! :D

Also for the cream puffs XD

Time to look for a new skin! :D

Baking!!

This is becoming a habit.
Looks like I'm going to start baking on Fridays, every 3pm. lol
Anyways, I was looking for something different today.

So while looking for a vanilla cake recipe, (or something like that),
I ended up with my Christmas Chocolate Mud Cake sketch:

I just wonder if I'd have enough space on the cake for this simple deco XD
I certainly hope so! :x

So anyways, I found the recipe and went to work on it.
But instead of vanilla, I made just a simple fluffy butter cake :D

Have you ever seen such golden cake before?
*no, I did NOT add any colouring rofl!

It looked ultimately awesome, I tell you.
Cause the outside of the cake was actually brown, so when I cut it,
I was so surprised that there was this golden colour inside XD

Plain awesomeness, I tell ya :D


Cake #2:

Actually, it was the same with the cake last week.
The only thing was, I used a different chocolate bar for the frosting.
Last week's bar was dark chocolate.
This week is milk chocolate.

The result: the frosting was kinda sweet (I didn't add any sugar!)
but it sorta matched the dark denseness of the cake.
(oh yesh, guess who couldn't wait for the frosting to sit? :P
- Answer: My Mum XD Yeah, not me rofl.)

I suppose if you wanted a nice balance between sweet and dark chocolate,
this is the combination to go.
If you wanted just dark all the way, then dark chocolate frosting is the best choice.

It all boils down to one's general preference :)

Awesome Weekend!

So I'll now report to you what happened last weekend.

It was an awesome one of back-to-back baking and outings :D

First up, I told you that I'll bake, right?
And I kept my promise.

Even though I only had like...

80g of butter AND

absolutely NO blocks of cooking chocolates XD

Thank goodness there was still an abundance of other stuff :D
*Of course, those other stuff was the main reason why I was baking anyway
in the first place x.x haha

*Truth was, I wanted to 'celebrate' my besties' and my birthday for 2011.

The cake turned out awesome for Saturday!
But it was the wrong Saturday :(

SR was having a morning project, so we met up at the Mall instead XD

Of course the Laksa lover didn't want to eat Tenppayaki...
But the Tenppayaki didn't mind eating Laksa.

So after walking around the Mall, trying to locate the shops,
we finally found our second-last resort XD

Of Getting Blamed :(

Wow, I don't know what to say.

It's kind of upsetting, being blamed but not sure if and should I take the blame for it.

I know it's a rat race and all that,
but I can't say that it was entirely my fault.

There were so many parties, yet...
*sigh*

What I'm talking about,
is the very first group presentation that occured, less than 4 hours ago.

The lecturer gave us all 2 weeks to come up with the presentation.
I had 7 people in my group, including me.
I know, not everyone could follow my pace...
even though I'm not even the leader.
Most of us started 2 weeks ago.
And with some of us lagging,
we only managed to put everything together TODAY.

It's GROUPWORK.
Everyone is expected to contribute... yet...

The thing is, I wouldn't have minded if we were the first group to present.
We were the last.

And we took (I believe) 30 minutes to finish our presentation.
Unfortunately, right after us, the lecturer closed the time,
and 3 more groups didn't have a chance to present their stuff.
(All groups were supposed to present for 15 minutes max)

The thing is, with the amount of time that we took up,
I supposed one more group COULD HAVE presented.
But you know what?

We also couldn't be blamed, cause the first 20 minutes was a stagnant
period of time waiting to be filled... but nobody went up to present.

I wanted that slot, but one of us had to go back home to
get their computer for their missing file slide.
And we couldn't just present with one missing member =_=;

Ahhh... it's such a headache.

I feel really bad, cause the ones who didn't get to present
lost 10% of their marks.
Was it my fault? I think so.
But! BUT! BUT!! It wasn't entirely my fault.

And I do still feel guilty about them.
It's like, I'm directly responsible for that :(

So... *sigh*

Things would've been better
IF everyone got their act together and not at the last minute realized that the file wasn't sent.
IF everyone of my group were able to present the first time,
IF the other group just went ahead and presented their stuff.

It does suck when your body parts aren't coordinated.
The best thing was... I'm still here.
*sigh*

That's it, all I have to say.
I'll talk about the more enlightening parts next time.

Hello November

You know, I just realized that I hadn't done a November post yet.
Funny, eh?

It's already the 10th November.
Tomorrow, it's going to be the 11/11/11.
People say it's a special date... maybe it is.

Since I'm going to do what I love to do tomorrow...
which is... baking!!

[Oh my gosh... How I long for my very own homemade cream puff,
sitting here in my college's syndicate room! ;'(]

Okay, I don't know what I'm going to bake or how I'm going to bake.
All I know is... I'm going to bake! :D

It should be a little cake, because I don't have much butter.
And I don't like the hassle of getting the ingredients :/

BUT BUT BUT!
Ever since the first lesson in college, I said something I really shouldn't have.
SH*T.

That was... "I love baking..."
Cause ever since then, all my college-mates have been looking forward to something to eat :x
Like a cake or something. Oh man.

*Okay, I know it's a joke.
But joke with me a few times about this and
I'll honestly actually bake something and bring it over o_o

Of course, I'll do that when there's enough ingredients! :D

Right now, I wanna do some little thing for my besties♥
Not sure if this will work out.

I believe I should start making some money out of my [baking] skills 8D
At least I can earn some extra income, yes? ;)
