Another Baking Expedition!

Hiya peeps!!

Yah, I know. I've been MIA for a long long long long long long time 

;(

I was am busy.

With school, work, SPM, revision...

What else?

A lot lot lot lot lot of other stuffs.

Oh well =(

I went to school this whole week...

when I had planned to skip, rawr

But today, after walking home... MY brain had an extremely ebil plan...

*insertsevilwitchlaughter*

TIME FOR....

MY AUNT'S SECRET SUGEE RECIPE TO SEE DAYLIGHT!!!

WA~KAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAKKA!!!!!

Okay, fail @-@

So I got home at... 1? 2? p.m.
Started soaking the sugee right there and then.
Ended up finishing the cake at... 3 p.m.
LOL!

Talk about being fast! O.O

So after that, I wondered what to do.
The truth is, I had enough ingredients for the Orange Cornflake Cookies or something like that.
Okay, maybe just a wee bit of plain flour ain't enough...
Like... -20g?
lolz.

So that's what I made ;9
It took me from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
[Oh yesh. It was slower than the cake cause the dough turned out weird... not enough flour + too soft, so it took awhile to get the right shape for baking the dough.]

I decided to make Caramel Cornflakes.
This time, using the accurate measurements!

Breakfast Deal! + Banana Milkshake Recipe

Hey ya'll!

So now, today, I'll report about a breakfast deal-turned-lunch!

Yes, it's supposedly breakfast, but it turned to lunch anyways.

What was it?

Hmmm...

Yes, the one with the buns and bacon ;9

Except that now I was there to witness the whole thing...

So, now we shall make the Banana Milkshake Smoothie....

*for chele's benefit*

BTW, it's called Banana Milkshake without the ice.

With the ice, add a "smoothie" at the back of the name x)

So...

 First, peel 2 ripe bananas and place the flesh in the blender

 Then, pour 2 glasses of milk in the blender...

[We love the Nestle Low Fat Milk, so no prizes on guessing what milk we used]

Pour as much ice as you would like to put.

The amount of ice in the blender determines the degree of "smoothie-ness" of the Banana Milkshake Smoothie.

Like, the degree of "smoothie-ness" is directly proportional to the amount of ice used.

Or was it the OTHER way around? hmmm...

 Okay, now you're satisfied with your mixture?

Place the blender over the motor and start whizzing the mixture until there are no more ice!

*once again, the length of time needed to crush all the ice in the blender depends on the amount of ice you put. The more ice you put, the longer it takes to crush the ice... unless they are already in a crushed form...

Pour the finished smoothies into a tall glass [for style] and voila!!
Your Banana Milkshake Smoothie is done :D :D

 Here's a smoothie for you, well done!

*note: taste may vary based on type of banana used and degree of ripeness as well as concentration of banana used.

**Another note: Once made, it is recommended to consume the drink immediately. You don't want your drink turning brown [no, it should not harm your stomach], and getting oxidised, do you?

Sugee Cakes and Baking Smells

Hello peeps =)

Yeah, I know I'm sorta cheating, but truly this was what happened today.

I had planned the whole week what I was going to do on this particular day.

After I finished BK notes, or so I told myself.

Which was BAKING~!!

Well, Mum was coming back this weekend and so it would be good to give her a little something before she goes to Singapore, aye?

AYE!!

And so I got busy!

Started at 4 p.m., finished at 11 p.m. =.=

Well, not to say I took THAT long for the cake D:

The Cornflakes Caramel took longer ==!!

Well, what do you expect when only the top part of the oven could be used? ;_;

But anyways, the Sugee Cake came out really well ;9

It was delicious. 

Errr... of course my Aunty Corinne's taste even more delicious, but for and amateur...

hehe~ considered okay-lah! LOL

Okay, not true haha xD

But I did *put* some brandy in the cake.

Um.. wait, was it really?

I only have one complaint though.

Someone should not make recipes with 

12 egg YOLKS

and

4 egg WHITES.

I mean, COME ON!! 

What am I supposed to do with the remaining 8 egg whites? x.x

And did I mention that it was torture for me to stand and break all 12 eggs?

[And due to my waste not policy, I had to scoop up whatever I thought was egg yolk whenever it broke and mixed with each other] 

What was I supposed to do? They kept mixing!

*complain*

But Dad said;

This is a test of gentleness... to teach you to be gentle.

You start with eggs, and end with glass.

Damn x.x

Wasted one egg though. Really tough *sigh*

That's the last time I'm ever using THAT recipe.

Oh, BTW.

If you're wondering what happened to the Caramel Cornflakes, I sorta have most of 'em burnt.

School Today - Edited

Hi :)

I went to school today, as promised.

I've sent my report card, so I have no reason to go tomorrow, or the day after.

If you want to re-borrow books, the Ah Long SPBT room will be opened next week.

I'll be going on Thursday [next week, please, please, please! don't get confused!!] to reborrow what I need.

If you want to know further info about the [2nd] Trials, it will be held from the 11th November to 16th November. Don't ask what subjects are going to be coming out; our class teacher could not confirm the whole list, but she did say that the critical subjects will be coming out for the exam.

If you want to know about class attendance, only 13 people came today [including me ;3]
Yes, about 4 - 5 people needed to return their books today, so they came. The rest... well, one group was duped into coming, I guess.
*Some* people said they weren't coming, yet they still came =.=
Then *that* people said those who were not coming said they were ._.
Of course, they did not come xD
lol!

Extra info?
The counselling teacher came in and gave us forms to fill; one survey form and one scholarship application form from Binary College. Our "Tokoh Guru" came in and told us that we need to make sure that;

Boys:

Hair must be short
No facial hair
Shirt must be tucked in

Girls:

The same
[Follow school rules]

She said that the outward appearance is important, especially for the School Leaving Cert.

If the school rules were not obeyed, they would give a 'C' for 'Penampilan Diri'.

Yup.

What did we do today?

PJK - relief teacher. Own work.
History - discussed answers until Question 20 objective [Trial paper]
Chemistry - did Chemistry exercise
BM - teacher gave answer for Novel part
English - did novel/comprehension exercise
Maths - did own work/Add Maths exercise

Oh!! Tomorrow I'll be a bad girl ;x

Personally speaking, I don't think I'd want to go for the 2nd Trials.

1. It causes unnecessary stress. I'm already sitting for SPM.
2. The date is definitely TOO close to SPM.
3. This is a selective "Trial". Only certain subjects will be coming out.
4. I feel that I'd be able to do better for SPM if I sat down and finished workbooks by myself instead of attending tests for selective subtopics.
5. If I do sit for 2nd Trials, my head will be up in the Heavens... and I would be too busy celebrating the end of the 2nd Trials that I'd forget to study for SPM.
6. The marks/grades for the 2nd Trials would not be counted in the report card/anywhere else. Thus, making it redundant.

So yeah. That's all for today's post =]

Ah Long Day

Hello :)

While we gave back the textbooks today, I forgot that I need the History book to do notes =.=

So, while I did say I was not going school tomorrow, I changed my mind.

I HAVE to go to school tomorrow.

If I wanted to apply for the scholarship by Taylor's, I've got to give back my report card...

since today is the last day to key-in our marks D=

Hm... most of the grades for the subjects I got was "A"

The only "B+" grade was for Add Maths.

!@#$%

Honestly, I'll make sure I do ALOT of exercise after this!

And get an A+ for Add Maths!!

Still not too late.

And still there were some subjects which I could've gotten an A+...

just that I was careless... or had been misinformed about certain techniques for answering the questions... like SITUASI in MORAL. *rawr*.

Well, whatever.

Better cry during Trials than die in SPM.

Okay, so anyways, I'm going school tomorrow to reborrow certain textbooks that I feel I need.

This time is only because she's moved out of Malaysia...

I didn't know there were people who learnt the piano [or played a song] using numbers, and now I can't say that I have never met someone who could not iron clothes [cause they remain crumpled even after ironing].

I'm only saying you're unique.

But I should've known a long time ago.

After all you did come from Bali!!

Goodbye, Aunty Dot

Today... was a sad day.

Dad took me out of school; and I only told 2 people that there was a funeral.

Of course we rushed. 

But we weren't late.

Still, today sort of reminded me of the time when my Grandma left the earth to join Grandpa.

Except... well, for the fact that my aunt said that she had planned everything before she left.

It was 2 years ago.

PMR year.

Lots of changes in my life.

Grandmother passed away.

I was gonna go through PMR.

Mum opened her restaurant.

In any case, Grandma passed away during the last holiday that I had before PMR.

So I would not be missing from school.

Before my Mum opened her restaurant, just so to "let me have experience taking care of money."

I remember praying unknowingly on the night she died:

"Lord, please be with my grandma during her last journey."

Then I slapped myself. Why in the world was I praying like that?!

But I was not surprised the next day at 5 a.m. my Dad announced that Grandma had gone.

My thoughts went...

"No wonder those thoughts came... x.x"

However, though, I hoped that God would grant Aunty Dot a miracle.

I didn't know her so well, but I hoped He would cause she had a very caring husband.

They did everything and went everywhere together.

Most of us also wondered; what Uncle Tan would do if he lost his wife?

I hoped and prayed.

But God decided what was best for her.

So he took her to Heaven as well.

She's the last of the Lopezs left in my Grandma's generation.

She was my Grandma's sister.

During my Grandma's 80th Birthday Party

The cause of death? 

Cancer.

I don't feel like retelling what had happened.

She passed away of cancer.

The doctors had fortold that she would pass away on Wednesday, and she did.

Thursday was the funeral.

And when I went to see Uncle Tan and pay my last respects, I felt very heartbroken.

That the one you loved so much had gone before you.

And you're trying to cope.

It's sad.

SO VERY SAD.

Still, I didn't want to shed a tear.

Cause I know, God in His mercy, would welcome her Home.

And she would have a grand party up there in Heaven...

So we should be happy.

Easy to say, hard to feel.
