First Walk

I just thought of jotting down the things I saw today as I decided for the first time, to take my future and efforts to make me into a better person seriously. Wow. What a way to start this post hahaha.

So I went for a meet-up/interview with *company name witheld* today, with one classmate (the introducer). And I realized that I have such a long way to go compared to them, who had already started their company, and put in efforts to make their customers/businesses lives better. Striving to make sure their software was easy to use, and require very little training. I told them that after graduation, I wanted to go travelling (first thing I wanted to do), then apply for jobs and whatnot, then possibly work on side projects.

Need to get portfolio up :o
and a separate blog. hmmmmm...

But all this is really thin air talking. Planning has to be done, or else what I want to do will remain naught but hopes and dreams, unfulfilled.

So.

First thing's first. Lose my fats. Get me 8kg smaller. Woah. It sounds tougher to do than to actually accomplish.

- To do this, I have decided to take a walk to the park and spend just 1 hour walking. And as always, when I walk, I seem to generate ideas haha. Or just relish the moment of living. How often can one do that while sitting in front of the computer?

I watched a baby learning to climb a slope today, with the father guiding its hands.
I watched a boy riding a bike (not MTB, but he had shock absorber).
I watched this boy kick a ball (which the Africans had accidentally kicked over), while on his bike. Then with a smile on his face, he said "sorry-ah". The Africans just smiled and gave a friendly hand gesture saying in a thick accent "no, no. it's okay"
I also noticed a tree in the middle of the park, having young leaves and blooming flowers at the top. I wonder how many people actually seen it?

Then I found myself comparing me to that tree. Every other tree was mature and old. This one was pretty new (I may be wrong, but not likely.)

That's how I am compared to others. A newbie. Not having much experience, not actually knowing much. Yet. AND YET. That tree was super beautiful; it was unique.

and it's the same with me. I'm not like them, but it doesn't mean that I'm doomed forever. My ideals and my point of view is different.

Passion-wise, perhaps I'm not the most passionate coder.
Neither am I one that would like to make decisions, or manage people.
No, I don't have that many great ideas, and find myself stumped at having to boast about what I have done.
I do not like to have to match-up to other people's pace (proven in Penang Hill), and prefer to be a master at my craft, in my own time.

I find these aspects limiting for myself.
But just like that tree in the middle of the park, I'm still my own person.
(okay, this analogy is getting lost right now)...
Or should I say, that tree was still beautiful in all its youthness.
That's what I am lacking. Self-appreciation when I have spent a lot of time with some really great/awesome/can't get anymore awesomer or I'm mind-blown people.

Breena. Start appreciating yourself!!!

And this is day one hahaha.

New ideas:
1. Stop sitting at the computer. Start standing. (Done and implemented)
2. I probably need a better pair of earbuds before sport shoes.
3. I definitely need a Jawbone #up24. Need to start tracking my steps/sleep ratio.
4. Need to be super consistent in my pursuit for a hybrid/MTB.
5. Need to be super duper consistent in exercising for #2 to take place. After #2, need to be even more consistent before #3 can take place. More discipline and determination (and results!) before #4 can take place.
6. When #5 is done, that self-enlightening trip (or independent trip, really) can be achieved.

Oh my gosh. This is only day #1.
