How I spent my Christmas Day...

Hey peeps!!!

As you all know, it's almost Christmas...

Oh wait...

It IS Christmas!!

:D

And not Christmas Eve...but CHRISTMAS!!

And you're probably wondering what my family did for Christmas...

First, we got up and went to church...

The last Mass for Christmas Mass.

the 10.30 a.m. Mass.

Boy, was it packed!!

Okay, not true.

We arrived like... 10 minutes late and Mum went to sit outside the church.

I just followed @_@

Then, after Mass, we met a few people, wished them Compliments of the Season, and chatted around for awhile.

My face appeared in the AssumptioNews!! NUUUUUUUU!!!

Outside the church, there was a Navity Scene...

Then, all of us headed to the DiGi HQ in Soho, KL.

Oh MY Gosh!!

Guess why we were heading there?

Yeah, well... we could've done that without going to the HQ.

We reached the DiGi HQ at 1 p.m.

And then we were told that the sale for iPhone 4 only opened at 2 p.m.

My parents then fiddled with the forms...

until they missed their turn.

But truth to be told...

even though I was the one with all the iPhone 4 hype...

I didn't get one.

YES.

I DID NOT GET ONE!! D: D:

All because Dad was blacklisted in 2 Telco companies.

So Mum was the only one that was able to open a principle...

and under one principle, only 2 iPhone 4s could be obtained.

That meant, there were 2 iPhones... between Mum, Dad and I.

I passed it =.=;

I decided that... better let Dad to have it.

I mean, he's the elder and everything.

It would be awkwardly weird if both of us wanted the iPhone, and Mum gave it to me instead of him =.=

 At 4 p.m., we left the DiGi Center.

with 2 iPhones.

And neither of them were mine.

Another Baking Expedition! [Part I]

 Heya peeps!!

Alrighty, so you know that Christmas is around the corner, and therefore, cookies must be made to fill the tummies of those hungry, poverty-stricken, rights-deprived human...

*slaps ownself*

WHAT IN THE WORLD AM I BRAMBLING ABOUT?!

Sorry, forget about what I said.

What I meant to say is... it's the Christmas Season is just around the corner!

And this would be the first Christmas that I actually participated in the baking part of Christmas!!

Or planned to participate, really.

That's what I've been telling all who asked me what I would be doing after SPM.

I said I'd bake on the 16th Dec, right after the exam.

Well, that stretched until... shall I say... the 20th Dec?

I mean, yeah, you all know I went out on the 17th... 18th, I was also out [somewhere] and also out on the 19th [I guess].

In any case, let's pretend that I started on the 20th. [Ouch.]

And Christmas Eve was 4 days more.

4 DAYS!!

[I managed it, though, with help from Heaven, so yeah xD]

First, I made the "Pops Cookies"

 

 I think, this was the cookies that She-Reen was talking about.

You pop them into your mouth, and then they "melt".

Yummy!!

Oh, I know you can see the chocolate there.

While I was doing this, I asked my sis whast sort of icing I should put there.

I was thinking of "orange" icing [cause I knew how to do it]

But she said " chocolate"...

So I decided to melt some chocolate, add milk into the pan, let it warm up really warm...

then "drizzle" it over the cookies...

...individually.

If you want the recipe, make a request, I'll post it up here ASAP xD

Next, I'll show you about the Orange Cornflake cookies :9

Okay, ignore the decoration.

I know, it came out really...

...valueless for physical beauty.

But hey, it's the inside that counts, right?

So in this case, it's the taste, am I right? :D

BTW, it was awesome!!

Before you get all gourmet on me, I'll let you feast your eyes on the beauty of the icing [if you really insist]... but only at the end of the post.

Anyways...

You know, as an elder sibling [or oldest, if I may say], 

it WAS difficult to rope in some help from the other half. @.@

Even if she was going to eat some of your hardwork x.x

Still, after some bribing to help me cut the mold for the Orange Cookies, 

she decided to go out all on her own.

What she did?

She made a guy and a girl out of the soft dough, and placed them in the oven with the rest of the cookies. I didn't object... until she realized that some parts were being cooked too fast, while the other, thicker parts were still uncooked. 

She made me take the whole tray out, eventhough the other "important" cookies were still not ready... not even half-ready!! =.=

So I took them out, explained to her why the tray has to go back into the oven ._.

She finally relented e_e

Anyways, when it was done, and I finished icing, I called her and allowed her to do some icing as well.

C'me on!! A little icing wouldn't hurt anybody, would it?

All because I could not relocate the electric mixer -.-

Oh, I practice a good amount of Quality Control [QC] when I bake.

Monica eats the guy, out of rage and unhappiness, for the fact that he two-timed her.

And lied to her...

Saying that he had broken off with his girlfriend, but in reality, still holding on to her and can't decide who, exactly, is running/ruining his life.

Aww... sudden realization breaks in, and she discovers that her boyfriend is no more.

She's alone!! D: D:

*inserts sad solo violin playing*

Meanwhile, Monica finishes eating the guy up.

"Oh, he was delicious!!" she exclaimed, "I wonder what the girlfriend will taste like?"

Instinctively, she picks the girl up, who was still upset at her loss...

...but accidentally broke of her leg.

Oh dear.

Now the screaming starts.

*inserts horrible, shrill screaming of a girl's voice*

*screaming contines*

Monica can't take it anymore. 

She hates the screaming!!

So, she came up with a plan...

*bites*

"That's one new vampire to record in your diary, Elena!"

[opps, wrong show xD]

I mean,

"This solves everything!"

The girl met her "lost" beloved in the belly of Monica, and Monica...

... loved the snack I gave her to make...

Christmas Dinner #2 [Angel Orphanage]

Date : 12th December 2010

Place : MCA Hall, OUG

Yup.

My Bible Knowledge exam was in another... 4 day's time.

On the 16th December 2010.

[Thursday]

Where was I on the 12th December [Sunday]?

I was in my aunt's house.

No, not studying.

Not like Thailand... where less distraction = quality time studying.

In fact, I was there... blowing balloons.

And enjoying every moment of scaring my aunt out of her skin with balloons.

[It was the first time I heard that she was afraid hated balloons.]

I guess I was enjoying it too much, though D:

I had to stop when she said,

"Stop! Afterwards in the car, the balloons will pop, and I will scream!"

*laughs*

Really, that totally cracked me up ;D

Okay, so you know that my aunty is a very generous person.

See what she baked for the party;

O.O!!

These are made from the FINEST cocoa powder, I assure you!

It was DAMN deli!!

Okay, these were not for the party...

it was to eat at home.

But it was the BEST chocolate chip cookie batch that she made! ;9

We [sis and I] went to her house around noon, I think, after church.

Then we bid Dad goodbye and blew some balloons [until she told us to stop], then we waited for the clock to show us "4 p.m."

When it did, sis and I went off to the MCA Hall where we found Ping Pong players.

Oh man!!

Some were shirtless...

Trust me, you do not wanna see old men half-naked =.=!!

GAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!

*runs away*

Apparently, the Ping Pong players were told by the MCA management that their rental hour finished at 5 p.m. 

Our party started at 6 p.m.

=.=!!

Of course, we were given an empty hall with no deco...

or any indication that Christmas was around the corner.

Ouch.

At once we got working.

I think I blew quite an amount of balloons while one aunty tied them tight, and sis tied them to the strings. [Okay, I'll admit!! I didn't go using all my breath! I had the help of a foot air-pump to blow the balloons. Yes, after dunno how many balloons, my skin hurt T^T]

It was for the goodwill of helping, no complaints there.

When we were done, it was 5 p.m. 

*phew*

And, we were given dirty chairs to use.

and limited tables =.=

Geez.

So, enough of the preparations.

Yeah, my sis, an aunty and my hard work.

After everyone had their full, the band played some Christmas carols, while I took photos of the people who came :D

After that, some games were organized.

Winners had each a prize o.o

Explaining the Eating the Apple using a Stick!

The ones behind the one with the stick can eat the apple.

They were not supposed to turn around!

Next, Ping Pong Ball in a Spoon.

She-Reen, remember this game? :D

They disappeared so fast!!

I was lucky to get this shot!

Aunt : *explaining the rules*

This game is similar to the Ping Pong Ball in Spoon game, just that it uses a straw for the spoon, and rubber band for the ball.

See? They ran too fast x.x

It was difficult to catch up with them D:

The next game was for the kids under 10 years of age.

Similar to the Apple Eating Contest... only the kids were given donuts.

I don't have any pics of this game... cause sis asked me to hold the stick so she can eat the donut.

Yeah, she wanted to unofficially compete with the under 10 =.=

Then came the last game.

Which my sis dragged me into it =.=

So I gave the camera to my uncle xD

In the end, we were both separated into 3 groups...

and sis and I were in different groups.

Sis was in the 1st group and I was in the 3rd group.

Was sort of reluctant, actually.

In my group, there were about... 6 of us.

And when my Aunt asked each of the groups to pick a leader, everyone pointed at me @.@

Okay...

I became the "catcher", while my team mates were "throwers".

The Throwers were blindfolded, and were given 2 Ping Pong Balls each... 

They had to throw the Ping Pong Balls, and the Catcher had to catch the balls in a fishing net.

You think the net is big? 

HAH!

Ever entered a fish shop and asked the shopkeeper to take certain fishes from the aquarium?

Do you know what net he/she uses?

THAT net.

Yes, the small, green net -.-

The one with a shallow base of a net and a long handle -.-

*sigh*

At least I wasn't blind-folded!!

Preparing for the game...

Sis was a Thrower xD

I was a Catcher. 

In a different group.

See that net? Yup, that's the one xD

But it was the LOL!!-est moment that night.

My sis dragged me to join this game.

In the end, my team won the game, beating her team by one ball.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Okay, after that, it was present time!

The kids all had prezzies given out to them.

My sis and I were given each a Christmas prezzie, too!

[I have no idea what it was. I left my prezzie in my aunt's house]

Giving out the presents!

After that, a prayer was said, and we all went home.

The next day, I was brought home [sadly.]

And started drilling The Acts of the Apostles into my brain.

Pacing up and down the room.

To this day, I still have no idea what my prezzie/prize is.

They are still sitting under my aunt's giant Christmas Tree!!
