The WORD was WITH GOD... in Old Testament

So, here is the counter post!
(okay, not really counter post, but a little sharing on my side when I read Michele's post) :P

I actually opened my Bible for this! 8D

John 1:1-2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God; he was in the beginning with God.

John 1:3-4 All things were made through him and without him nothing came to be. Whatever has come to be, found life in him, life which for humans was also light.

This is how the book of John (in the NT) starts of; with reference to the Lord Jesus Christ as the "Word". And, in the book of Genesis, how did God create the world with all its creatures, stars, moon and sun?

Genesis 1: 3 God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light.

Genesis 1: 6 God said, "Let there be a firm ceiling between the waters and let it separate waters from waters."

Genesis 1: 9 - 10 God said, "Let the waters below the sky be gathered together and let dry land appear." And so it was. God called the dry land "Earth" and the waters gathered together he called 'Seas'. God saw that it was good.

Now, this means that the Lord Jesus was with God since creation, just that at that time,
He wasn't born (in human form) yet and thus had no name.

He also didn't have a form like a human being, since God's mighty plan of salvation wasn't revealed just yet.

So, in other words, the Lord Jesus was with God, in the mysterious form of God's Word.

Also, we Christians believe in the mysterious being of God as having 3 persons in one God;
God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

So if God the Father was mentioned in the Old Testament, obviously, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit would be present there, too... just not mentioned (if you don't read between the lines)

And yes, Michele, your reference to Luke and David was right :D
Go back and tell your teacher to study the Bible properly;
what's a lecturer if she can't get her facts right and has to rely on her students to tell her the facts? :S
